National Early Warning Score adoption

National Early Warning Score (NEWS)

• NHS England is asking every hospital trust to adopt the clinical assessment system - National Early Warning Score (NEWS). The system was developed by the Royal College of Physicians with the aim of creating a standardised approach to clinical assessment across the country. 
• NEWS should not be used in children (under 16 years), or pregnant women for which other systems are under development.
