Hospital Frailty Risk Score focusing on older people in acute care settings

Development and validation of a Hospital Frailty Risk Score focusing on older people in acute care settings using electronic hospital records: an observational study.

  • A Hospital Frailty Risk Score for older people in acute care, based on routinely collected data, was found to be a low-cost systematic way of screening for frailty. Patients with the highest scores had increased odds of 30-day mortality, long hospital stay, and 30-day readmission.
