- This review sought to determine the effect of hospital organisation, surgical factors and the enhanced recovery after surgery pathway on patient outcomes and NHS costs of hip and knee replacement.
- Trends in length of stay, bed costs, patient-reported outcome measures, complications and revision surgery were consistent with a continuation of a pre-existing secular trend, and were not temporally related to implementation of the national enhanced recovery after surgery programme.
